Our community is minutes away from endless outdoor adventure – from fishing, surfing, motorboating, sailing, golfing, scuba diving and even hiking, there’s always something to do when you live in New Smyrna Beach. In 2012, National Geographic recognized New Smyrna Beach as “one of the world's top 20 surf town”. The star attraction is its 17-mile stretch of white sandy beaches, which includes a popular surf hub at nearby Canaveral National Seashore.
Within our Coastal Woods community, we have wonderful amenities that include a community pool, tot lot, pickleball courts and recreational field. These family-friendly activities and amenities are a great way to be outdoors, get acquainted with your neighbors and enjoy all that comes with beach-town living.
Art & Entertainment
Historic Canal Street, located in the heart of New Smyrna beach, includes pedestrian-friendly, tree-lined streets showcasing a lively blend of parks, historic building, specialty shops and more. Being only a 10-minute drive from our community, the historic district hosts monthly and annual events so there will always be new and fun activities for you and your family to do.
Craft beer is no longer just for home breweries. Enjoy a local beverage and a stroll when you join in the fun of the Canal Street Craft Beer Walk on the first Saturday of every month. Enjoy perusing boutiques, art galleries and historical places to visit along the walk and get to know the city, the people and the local businesses.
The city has the distinction of being included in the book, “The 100 Best Small Art Towns in America: Where to Discover Creative Communities, Fresh Air, and Affordable Living” by John Villani. Named one of "America's Top Small Cities for the Arts", it is home to the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Little Theatre, the Harris House, and Arts on Douglas, a gallery of fine arts. Art shows featuring visual and performing arts occur throughout the year, a great night out that your family will enjoy.
As the second oldest city in Florida, there are many fascinating historical sites to visit. Located in downtown’s palm-lined Canal Street Historic District, sip on one of the best malts in town at the Little Drug Co, an iconic spot that opened its doors in 1922. Visit the ruins from times of war between Native Americans and colonists in the 1800’s, like the Sugar Mill Ruins and The Old Fort. Just slightly north of the city, enjoy panoramic views atop Ponce de Leon Inlet, which is the first lighthouse constructed in 1835 and a National Historic Landmark. Standing at 175 feet tall, it’s the second tallest lighthouse in the United States and tallest one in Florida.
If living near the beach and being just minutes away from outdoor adventure, shopping, and endless entertainment in a city rich in history, then our New Smyrna Beach community, Coastal Woods, could be the perfect place for your family to call home.
